Lewisburg School is deeply committed to supporting our military-connected students, families, and staff. We proudly serve families who have loved ones currently serving or who have served our country, and we recognize the unique strengths and challenges that accompany military life.

Each year, Lewisburg School hosts an annual Veterans Day Program, inviting local veterans and family members to join us in honoring their service. Veterans are welcome to share breakfast with their students as a meaningful way to connect, reflect, and show appreciation. In addition, we collaborate with many local organizations that provide resources, services, and support for those who serve and their families. 

Through these efforts, we strive to foster a school community that values gratitude, service, and leadership while teaching all students the importance of being contributing citizens and honoring those who protect our freedoms.

Local Supports for Military Families

• American Legion Post 29: Located directly in Russellville, this organization focuses on service to veterans, military members, and the community. The post hosts events and offers programs to promote camaraderie and provide support.

Nearby regional support

• Fort Campbell Army Community Service (ACS): While a short drive away, this major installation near the Kentucky-Tennessee border offers extensive resources for active-duty soldiers and their families. Their programs promote self-reliance and stability, including financial counseling, emergency assistance, and classes.

• Veterans Alliance Center: Located in Bowling Green, this center provides direct assistance to veterans and their families. Their services can include food, clothing, and other forms of aid.

• Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5706: This VFW post in Franklin offers programs and a space for military veterans and their families to connect. The VFW's auxiliary also offers support to military families.

• Kentucky National Guard Family Assistance Center (FAC): As a "one-stop shop," FACs serve active-duty members, veterans, and their families. They assist with issues dependents may face and provide resources for those preparing for or experiencing a deployment.
• Military Family Assistance Trust (MFAST) Fund: Administered by the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs, this fund offers financial assistance to eligible Kentucky National Guard members and their families.
• USA Cares: A nationwide nonprofit headquartered in Kentucky that provides emergency financial assistance and skills training for post-9/11 veterans, service members, and their families.

• Military OneSource: A Department of Defense-funded program that provides free, 24/7 support for military personnel and their families. Services include confidential non-medical counseling and financial coaching.
